Watch: Shang-Chi Deleted Scene Reveals Shocking Villain Death
It's been quite the year for Marvel Studios. This year has brought with it eight projects, with a ninth set for release on December 17. For those keeping track, that's more MCU content in one year than fans have ever had before.
One of the most critically praised entries out of all of those is undoubtedly Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film introduced Simu Liu's hero to the world, and it's safe to say that he made a good impression.
Shang-Chi was up against his father, Wenwu, also known as The Mandarin, who was misled into freeing a world-ending monster. It wasn't the best family reunion they could've had.
Wenwu's right-hand man, Razor Fist, was also a thorn in the side of the movie's protagonists. In the final act, however, the amputee fighter switches sides—seeing it as the only way to defeat the Soul Suckers killing off people left and right.
After the film's release, actor Florian Munteanu teased that there was more to his character in those moments which didn't make it into the final product. He noted, however, that it was likely to find its way into the deleted scenes when the movie properly released on home media.
Well, jump a few months forward, and it looks like he was right. However, those forgotten moments hold a lot more than just a little more Razor Fist.
Shang-Chi Almost Killed A Key Villain
With Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings streaming on Disney+, Marvel Studios has released a new deleted scene from the film, one which showcases a surprising death.

In the original film's final act, the soul suckers shocked viewers when they very quickly dispatched Death Death; an action which can be seen in the photo above.
The new deleted scene, however, shows that another character shared the same fate at one point: Razor Fist.
The entire sequence can be seen in the video below:
Razor Fist Avoids a Shock Death
It's crazy to think how Marvel Studios nearly killed off Razorfist, especially since he is seen as Xialing's right hand in the post-credits sequence. Munteanu just barely rolled off that chopping block.
The deleted scene does reveal an interesting side of the henchman that viewers follow throughout the movie. Hopefully, with the character surviving, Razorfist will still get time to become more realized as his story continues. There is that rumored Ten Rings show after all.
This does beg the question: is there a world where Death Dealer actually survived that battle? Or were both goners? Either way, fans know who won that fight by a razor-thin margin.
Audiences can now stream Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on Disney+, with physical copies of the film going on sale on November 30.
