Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the 25th theatrical installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it marks the debut of the franchise's first Asian superhero.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Shang-Chi stars Simu Liu as the titular Master of Kung Fu. The Marvel newcomer was joined by fellow Asian stars Awkwafina as Katy, Meng'er Zhang as Xialing, and Tony Leung as the Mandarin.

The film follows the origin story of Shang-Chi as he gets confronted by the sudden reemergence of his father, Wenwu, in his newfound life in San Francisco, California.

Shang-Chi debuted in theaters in early September 2021, shattering expectations when it broke the box office record in the United States during the Labor Day weekend. This was on top of overwhelmingly positive reviews from fans and critics.

Now, in anticipation of the film's release on Disney+ on November 12 of this year, Shang-Chi's end credits title sequence has been released.

Perception, a design lab that worked on MCU films such as Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok, officially released Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' Main on End title sequence ahead of the film's digital release on November 12, 2021.

The team also provided insight into the creative process of the sequence, revealing that its design was based on the "natural form of water." The studio also pointed out that the credits sequence "celebrates the splashes and droplets of water" with the stories that were showcased in Shang-Chi

"We focused the design of our sequence on the natural form of water in the way it looks and moves. Kung Fu and many of the fighting techniques seen in this film are visually beautiful and very fluid. These moves reminded our team of the aesthetics and movement of water. As a result, this sequence celebrates the splashes and droplets of water, with the stories and world of Shang-Chi rendered into it, along with key emotional moments seen throughout the film."

MCU films include impressive end-credits sequences before unveiling their respective post-credits tag, and Shang-Chi's tail-end showcase is no different.

It's fitting that water was used as the main anchor of the sequence since it has a special connection to the realm of martial arts. Bruce Lee, a well known martial artist and actor, previously compared the craft of mixed martial arts to water by acknowledging the idea that the latter can be used as a reference when learning the skill:

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

It is also appropriate that Perception described the sequence as a celebration of the stories featured in Shang-Chi since it gives a sense of continuity, mainly because water runs an endless stream of opportunities for the Asian superhero sub-franchise of the MCU.

In the past weeks, numerous VFX breakdowns of pivotal moments from the film were released online, giving fans an overview of how the cast and crew created the thrilling sequences of the movie. That said, there's a strong chance that this credits sequence was released to boost further anticipation for the film's imminent digital and Disney+ release.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is still playing in theaters worldwide.
