New Hawkeye Trailer Hints at Kingpin & Black Widow Surprises
Hawkeye is out and has hit its mark. The first three episodes of the bow-wielding MCU epic made their way onto Disney+ and people have fallen in love. The super-powered holiday adventure sees Jeremy Renner's Avenger take on a protégé in the form of Kate Bishop (played by Hailee Steinfeld). While the first two episodes were mostly used as set up, Episode 3 turned things up to eleven by introducing Alaqua Cox's Echo and teasing what could be Daredevil's Kingpin.
Audiences are now halfway through Hawkeye, and things are seemingly going to only get crazier from here. Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova has been teased to be in the project; however, fans have not been given any indication of her inclusion on-screen yet.
Well, the wait for the Black Widow star may finally be over.
New Hawkeye Promo Teases Big Surprises
A new promo for Disney+'s Hawkeye debuted online, and with it comes a glance at a mysterious new character and the tease of big surprises.
The character in question seems to be wearing a stealth suit, not dissimilar to that of Tom Holland's Night Monkey from Spider-Man: Far From Home; although, there is likely no connection to the web-slinger's sequel.
One shot of note from the footage includes what seems to be the electrical-based defenses of the Black Widow's kiss, which would give some credence to the idea that this new mysterious character is in fact Yelena Belova.
The short spot features bits of new footage with a voiceover saying Hawkeye's "biggest surprises are yet to come." One of these "surprises" could very well be the introduction of Marvel crime boss Kingpin into the MCU, someone that many think is Echo's elusive uncle whose hand is seen as a part of this teaser.

A Couple Presents Left to Unwrap
Despite being only fifteen seconds long, this small tease says a lot. First looking at this new figure all decked out in stealth gear of some sort, this is almost definitely Yelena Belova.
On the comic page, the character has been seen wearing a very similar getup, so it would make a lot of sense if the former Black Widow sported the gear in Hawkeye. And after potentially gaining access to the resources of Julia Louis Dreyfus's Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, it would make a lot of sense if the young MCU hero had a new look for the series.
The last piece of evidence that this is in fact Ms. Belova is the quick blast of electricity arcing across a New York background. As pointed out above, this electricity looks oddly similar to the Black Widow's Bite that Scarlett Johansson's Avenger has used throughout the franchise. If it is in fact the Widow's Bite, then it's not too much of a leap to say that this faceless figure is Yelena Belova.
And speaking of faceless figures, what's with the recycling of that same shot of young Maya Lopez looking up at her uncle?
Rumors have been swirling that Vincent D'onofrio would be reprising his Daredevil role in Hawkeye, bringing Wilson Fisk into the MCU. Since the show thus far has been tteasing that this uncle is pretty engrained in New York's criminal underworld, it would make a lot of sense to bring the Kingpin in this way - something that this new promo could be pointing towards.
Hawkeye's first three episodes are streaming now streaming on Disney+, with Episode 4 coming Wednesday, December 8.
