Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Sequel Trailer Released

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Sequel Trailer

Marvel's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is currently at the forefront of the comic company's newsstream, which is largely thanks to the upcoming release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, that's not the only web-slinger-centric project on fans' horizons, thanks to the sequel to the wildly successful animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which broke the mold in many ways back in 2018.

The animated Spidey feature became a near-instant success upon its release with the story of Miles Morales becoming Spider-Man and entering a world he never knew existed. Teaming up with web-slingers from all across the Multiverse, which even included John Mulaney's Spider-Pig named Peter Porker, this film showed exactly what a Multiverse-centric story could bring to the comic book movie landscape.

Following Into The Spider-Verse's accomplishments, Sony quickly moved forward with plans for a sequel that will come to theaters in late 2022. Now, with Spidey in the spotlight from multiple angles, Sony took the opportunity to give fans an exciting tease of what to expect in the world of animation.

Sony Shows First Look at Spider-Verse Sequel

Live from the CCXP Comic-Con in Brazil, via Twitter, Sony gave fans the first full look at the sequel to 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The preview also confirmed that the movie's official title is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One).

The trailer shows Miles Morales jumping back through Multiversal pathways fully suited up in the Spider-Man suit he developed in the original movie.

Also shown in the trailer was Oscar Isaac's Spider-Man 2099, who made his animated debut in Into The Spider-Verse's post-credits scene with a hilarious introduction. Here, he seems to be taking the fight to Miles as the two fall through different dimensions.
