Watch: Disney+ Reveals First Scary Clip From Moon Knight
Next up on Marvel Studios’ slate is the upcoming Disney+ series, Moon Knight. The project will see Oscar Isaac’s Steven Grant struggle with Dissociative Identity Disorder as he comes to believe that he has been granted powers by the Egyptian God of the Moon, Khonshu. Grant then has to contend with figuring out what is real, and what isn’t.
The creatives behind the show have teased its mind-bending qualities, and how it won’t shy away from being as dark as necessary. On top of that, for those who may worry about how it will portray mental health, the star behind the titular character has spoken up for how their story goes about telling the story of Steven Grant, Marc Spector, and Mr. Knight.
Of course, the deity behind the mystery is the previously mentioned God of the Moom, Khonshu. Now, the show has officially released the first new clip from the project that shows off Khonshu in all of his terrifying glory.
New Scary Moon Knight Clip
Marvel Studios released the first clip from its upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight. The brief footage showcases Oscar Isaac's Steven Grant coming face-to-face with the Egyptian God of the Moon, Khonshu.
At the start of the clip, Oscar Isaac’s Steven Grant is seen holding the elevator door open as he looks down the hallway.
To his surprise, the physical manifestation of Khonshu starts lumbering towards him.
Surprise! It was actually an old woman, and it was all in his head… or was it?
The money shot of Khonshu’s beaked skeleton face closes out the scene, bringing horror and thriller vibes with it.
The entire clip can be seen down below.
The Scary Moon God Khonshu
It’s safe to say that out of all Marvel Studios projects to date, Moon Knight may be the one which will lean furthest into the horror genre so far—something clear even with just this one single clip. After all, the show will need to put audiences in Steven Grant’s shoes as he struggles to figure out what's really happening.
When it comes to the MCU's press and marketing, it’s always been Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness which has been advertised as Marvel’s first foray into horror. But, it seems that might have been slightly off, with Moon Knight taking the crown instead.
They also have completely nailed the look and design of Khonshu, along with some truly impressive CGI work. The closeup shot of the God’s face looks like the real deal. Who wouldn’t be terrified if they saw that walking towards them in a claustrophobic hallway while trapped in an elevator?
Moon Knight hits Disney+ on March 30, and Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6.
