The Big Bang Theory Exec Gets Candid on Recasting Kaley Cuoco's Character

The Big Bang Theory originally had a very different pilot that went unaired with a totally different character from Kaley Cuoco's Penny.

The Big Bang Theory's 2007 pilot introduces viewers to Sheldon and Leonard as they meet their attractive new neighbor Penny, with whom Leonard would go on to fall in love and start a family. 

But before the sitcom finally made its way to air, The Big Bang Theory had a very different unaired pilot with its own separate cast of characters, with the part of the female lead instead filled by Amanda Walsh's Katie.
