Anthony Mackie Says Sebastian Stan & Him Are At Their 'Worst' in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
After Marvel Studios finally brings the start of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe this weekend, the flood gates will be opened as nearly every week of 2021 includes a new piece of content from the MCU. The new phase of projects kicks off with two consecutive Disney+ shows, beginning with WandaVision, continuing on with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in March 2021.
The second of these shows will reunite one of the MCU's fan favorite pairings, as Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes take on a world tour fighting bad guys. Bucky will continue to regain control of himself after years of mind control, while Sam adapts to the new responsibilities that come with taking on the mantle of Captain America.
Behind the scenes, the two leading actors are more than ready for this streaming adventure, which is proven one again by a recent interview.
NEWS
In a recent sit-down with the Today Show (via the @thefalconandthewintersoldiertv Instagram page), Falcon star Anthony Mackie described how he and co-star Sebastian Stan are "at (their) worst, doing (their) worst" together on the set of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. His quotes shower praise upon Marvel Studios and Disney for their work on this new mini-series:
"It’s me and Sebastian at our worst, doing our worst, having the most fun. It’s a great storyline, nothing about the quality has been taken away because its television. I think Marvel and Disney sort of changed the game by how dynamic this show is, and you’re sitting in your living room instead of a large movie theater."

WHAT THIS MEANS
It's abundantly clear that Marvel is "changing the game" in terms of storytelling with the release of WandaVision, and it appears to be the same story with Falcon's next MCU appearance as well.
Mackie lives up to Marvel standards by not giving away any plot specific for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier; although his quotes do indicate that Marvel has another winner on their hands. Marvel CCO Kevin Feige spoke at Disney Investor Day about this series functioning as a full-fledged Marvel movie split up into six parts, and with the footage released so far, it looks to have all themakings of another MCU classic.
Falcon and Bucky will be in their fifth MCU story together after battling both with and against each other in the last two Captain America movies, as well as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. It's a classic love/hate relationship that has already been teased in the first trailer from December 2020, and it will be intriguing to see how they flourish in their first headliner appearances in the MCU.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will premiere on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
