Obi-Wan Kenobi: Ewan McGregor Shows Off Muscles For Disney+ Series
Star Wars is currently in the early stages of its next chapter. With The Skywalker Saga having concluded over a year ago, the franchise is shifting its focus to the Disney+ series format.
While several of these series are set to continue exploring the timeline from The Mandalorian , Obi-Wan Kenobi will take the world in a different direction as Star Wars returns to the story of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The story will take place between Episode III and IV as the iconic Jedi master watches over Luke Skywalker in his younger years on Tatooine. The series has been through a lot of changes since its initial conception having previously been planned as a movie before transforming into a Disney+ original series.
Following a rumored slew of rewrites during the COVID-19 pandemic, the series is almost ready to begin production for a planned 2022 release. As such, its lead actor Ewan McGregor needs to be in shape for the role, something he's clearly taken very seriously as shown by recent pictures.
MCGREGOR IS GETTING JACKED
Tony Horton, the creator of P90X, has shared an image on Instagram of himself with a flexing Ewan McGregor. The Scottish actor is preparing to begin shooting on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series in the coming months.
Horton shared a message of McGregor's success with his training as he says “It seems that this Scottish fellow is starting to lean up and slim down. He hasn’t missed a day, and his diet has been spot on. This was day 16.”
While the trainer confirmed this image was taken just over two weeks into the training regime, it's unclear exactly how long they've been training by now.
MCGREGOR IS READY TO BECOME OBI-WAN KENOBI
With the ongoing global pandemic continuing to delay various productions, it's unclear exactly when the cameras will be able to start rolling. McGregor has previously shared the plans for the series to begin shooting in the Spring in L.A.
While the general concept of exploring Obi-Wan's adventures on Tatooine between films is clear, specific plot details remain vague. Hayden Christensen will be returning to his classic role of Anakin Skywalker in the series, either through flashbacks and visions, or potentially donning the iconic Darth Vader suit.
Whatever the plot entails, it's expected for an action film or series like Obi-Wan Kenobi that the lead actor would be in solid shape for the role, something McGregor is clearly pulling off well. Given the muscular look just a couple of weeks into shooting, it's evident the Scottish star never lost his impressive build.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is yet to set an official specific release date beyond its expected 2022 premiere. The world of Star Wars will next be explored in live-action with The Book of Boba Fett this December, exclusively on Disney+.
