The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Scene Details Reveal Bucky Therapy & More

Falcon and Bucky

The Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan-led The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is on its way to Disney+ soon on March 19, and in traditional fashion, critics will start beginning to get exclusive looks at the upcoming series as the release gets closer.

Major critics in the TCA have been shown a sizable section of new footage from the upcoming Disney+ series, revealing new plot points and brutal action sequences.

NEW ACTION AND THERAPY SCENES DESCRIBED

The critics were shown around 15 minutes of new footage from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is speculated by Collider's Steven Weintraub to be entirely from the first episode.

Firstly, an action sequence was shown which features Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson as the Falcon “trying to rescue someone from a plane” in classic cinematic Marvel action according to Weintraub.

Decider reporter Meghan O’Keefe described that the Falcon will be “getting the most brutal (and bloody!?) action scenes...in the MCU to date.” While O'Keefe says the action doesn't exactly reach the “hard R” rating level, it does go “hard.”

The Collider reporter described a second sequence featuring Sebastian Stan's “Bucky with a therapist where she was trying to get him to talk about his issues,” while also showing some “well-shot action.” This seems to imply Bucky's therapy session won't exactly go to plan.

Weintraub makes clear that just like WandaVisionThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier will showcase another huge budget with movie-level cinematic action.

According to O'Keefe, the therapy scene would indicate the MCU will continue to use their Disney+ series to dig into “the trauma of being a superhero” just like WandaVision. Naturally, this series will show a “way more grounded version of that” to suit the less supernatural tone.
