Justice League: Joe Manganiello Publicly Supports SnyderVerse Movement With New Deathstroke Photo

Justice League, Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke

Zack Snyder's Justice League has been in the public consciousness for a while now, though fans are still avidly discussing the events of the four-hour blowout.

The film was praised for giving much more development to characters like Cyborg and Steppenwolf, the latter of whom received a spikier new outfit to reflect his more emotional moments. Superman's impact on the narrative was also improved, with his death being given more meaning in the new cut.

Most of the attention and energy following the film's release has been put towards the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse movement, a continuation of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign. While Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder himself have said that there are no plans to continue his vision of the DC universe, many would like to see how we would handle a Justice League sequel set in a Knightmare future.

One of the film's cast members has now shown his support to reinstate the universe that Zack Snyder worked so hard to build...

DEATHSTROKE RESTORES THE SNYDERVERSE?

Zack Snyder's Justice League actor Joe Manganiello shared a behind-the-scenes image to his social media, depicting him suited up as Deathstroke from the Knightmare epilogue:

Manganiello also shared his support for the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse movement, including the hashtag in the picture's caption:

SLADE WILSON...IN A BOX?

Deathstroke has a relatively limited role in Zack Snyder's Justice League, appearing in a version of what was originally the theatrical cut's post-credits scene and again in the film's epilogue. Since his screen time is scarce, this image provides a better look at some of the intricate details of his costume in addition to his bold new mohawk.

Now that Joe Manganiello has come out in support of the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse movement, it remains to be seen how other cast members, Warner Bros., and Zack Snyder himself will respond.

The majority of the cast of Justice League have a future lined up for them going forward, with many having potential upcoming solo movies to keep them busy. Manganiello has not been afforded this same status just yet, so perhaps a Justice League 2 would be the one way for him to get back into DC's playhouse.

Warner Bros. has been adamant that a SnyderVerse continuation will not be happening, but perhaps fanfare, cast support, and, most importantly, viewership numbers could change their mind. WB does seem comfortable with alternate versions of their characters existing simultaneously on screen, so perhaps they will eventually decide to give Snyder a chance to see his vision continue.

All four hours of Zack Snyder's Justice League are available now on HBO Max.
