Marvel's Moon Knight: Oscar Isaac Shows Off Athleticism In New Training Video
Marvel Studios' upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight should prove to be quite the intriguing addition to the franchise. The series will focus on billionaire vigilante Marc Spector, who suffers from dissociative identity disorder and by night, dons a hooded, all white costume and beats criminals to a pulp.
Often called Marvel's answer to DC's famed Caped Crusader Batman, Moon Knight is highly unhinged and believes himself to be the avatar of Khonshu, the Egyptian moon god. Of course, Spector will be played by Oscar Isaac, who is well known for his portrayal of Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
The character of Poe Dameron was a reasonably action-oriented role but as a new video seems to indicate, as far as Oscar Isaac's roles go, th surface has barely even been scratched in terms of physicality.
THE FIST OF KHONSHU
Oscar Isaac's production company, Mad Gene Media, has taken to Instagram to share a video of Isaac's training for the imminent production of Moon Knight. Set to music, the video is a montage showing Issac showing off his fighting moves as he mimes taking down a number of would-be assailants.
Check out the video below:
MARC SPECTOR IN ACTION
It's a surprisingly thrilling video and the fighting is quite dynamic. Issac is using a knife to fight in several of the clips. Could this mean that Moon Knight will be similarly armed in the series?
This isn't the first time a training video has been posted for Moon Knight. Last month, a similar video of Isaac in action showed up online.
It's clear that Issac is putting in a lot of work for this role. He's very much a fan-favorite actor, so it's good to see he's living up to that reputation as he and the team Marvel Studios work to bring Moon Knight to the MCU. Acclaimed actor Ethan Hawke will also star opposite Issac in the series as an unknown villain, so the series is definitely loading up on star power.
Moon Knight will begin filming in Budapest, Hungary this Spring and drop on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
