Elizabeth Olsen Reveals Her Favorite WandaVision Moment That She Keeps Thinking About
It's been quite a year for Marvel fans with the debut of both WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and soon Loki on Disney+.
So far, the MCU's Disney+ offering has been a massive success with its shows dominating the pop culture world and water cooler conversations while also proving the studio's blockbuster brand and signature quality can also translate into a television format.
And this is why both MCU Disney+ series are being considered for Emmy nominations with WandaVision campaigning for Best Limited Series and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier for Best Drama.
Since WandaVision is back in the spotlight, several of its stars are shedding light on what went on behind-the-scenes of what could be an Emmy nominated series come July 13, 2021.
ELIZABETH OLSEN SHARES HER FAVORITE MOMENT FILMING WANDAVISION
On the EW's The Awardist podcast, Wanda Maximoff's Elizabeth Olsen shared her favorite moment from filming WandaVision admitting, "I think about it all the time."
When asked about it, the actress was honest about her experience saying, "I loved so many experiences, and at the same time, it's like a blur. Like this whole experience was so fast. There's so many moments that were a blur."
However, a particular scene did come to Olsen's mind; the one when Wanda's children, Billy & Tommy (played by Julian Hilliard and Jett Klyne, respectfully), found out about the death of their dog, Sparky, during the 1980s-themed episode:
"And this isn't even really a scene – this is gonna be so random! My favorite moment was filming a scene with the kids, Julian and Jett. And then the dog is dead, Kathyrn has the dog, and I'm telling them they can't escape death. And Julian, at the end of it, looked at me, and he said, 'That was the best I've ever been. Oh my God, that was so good!'"
But, as Olsen reveals, Julian Hillard's best performance didn't make the show, and she just "didn't have the heart to tell him."
"And the camera wasn't on him. It was on the other kid. And I didn't have the heart to tell him. And I really do think that – in that moment – oh my God what confidence. And I think that to me that gave me so much joy that I think about it all the time."
Agatha Harkness' Kathyrn Hahn, laughing, interjected saying, "That was the best! That sums it up. Everyone gave it their all off-camera or on."
WANDAVISION'S LEGACY AND ITS AWARD-WINNING POTENTIAL
While WandaVision did include some action-packed scenes and cinematic elements, the show itself was much more personal and emotional than many of the Marvel films to date.
And from what Elizabeth Olsen shared, it sounds like there were just as many personal stories and growth playing out behind-the-scenes as they were on our screens.
Regardless of how fans felt about the conclusion of WandaVision, the series will be remembered for its cast's performances and emotional themes which certainly hit home for its audience.
And perhaps those particular notes will be why WandaVision may not only be the MCU's first Disney+ series, but perhaps the MCU's first Emmy nominated series as well.
