Marvel Celebrates Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver With New Avengers: Age of Ultron Figure
The return of Quicksilver in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was expected from fans in WandaVision, especially when several leaks pointed to that being the case. However, Evan Peters being cast in the show threw everyone off as it was revealed he was playing Pietro Maximoff.
Peters' version of the character seen in WandaVision even managed to get his own Funko Pop! figure. But, unfortunately, some could argue this made it feel like Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver had been left to be forgotten.
Speaking of figures, Hasbro's new Marvel Legends: Infinity Saga set, which started with Thor as he appeared in Avengers: Endgame, looks to continue for quite some time as new characters are unveiled every month. However, the latest announcement will surprise quite a few fans who likely didn't see it coming...
YOU DIDN'T SEE THIS PRE-ORDER COMING
As part of “Marvel Monday” for May 2021, Hasbro has revealed a brand-new action figure for Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver from Avengers: Age of Ultron, which also includes a destroyed Ultron drone.
The figure is priced at $24.99 USD and is available for pre-order here.
The packaging for Quicksilver features The Infinity Sage logo placed prominently on the front.
Additionally, the figurine comes with configurable hands to more easily pose the Maximoff twin running.
Being an unnatural-born runner, Quicksilver's figure is super-articulated and can be moved into several poses.
This Hasbro figure is now available for pre-order on Entertainment Earth.
AARON TAYLOR-JOHNSON: REMEMBERED BUT NOT...
The absence of Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver in the MCU has become a bit of a joke, especially since his appearance à la Evan Peters style in WandaVision. So, it's nice to see this iteration of the character remembered in some way by having an impressive figure made for him.
It's unknown if and when Taylor-Johnson would ever return as the character, but the best possible place would obviously be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Fans have already seen Wanda in the post-credit scene for her series searching for her children, so looking for a replacement for her deceased brother isn't too big a stretch. If not, at least Taylor-Johnson has a cool figure made after his character.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on March 25, 2022.
