Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels Reportedly Casts South Korean Actor Park Seo-joon

Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels Park Seo-joon

The Captain Marvel sequel titled, The Marvels, is set to release on November 11, 2022. The film is set to be directed by Nia DeCosta and once again star Brie Larson as Carol Danvers.

MCU newcomers Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani are also playing big roles as Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan respectively.

And Zawe Ashton was reportedly cast as the main villain back in February of this year.

Now, the much-anticipated sequel to Captain Marvel has seemingly added a new face to the cast.

PARK SEO-JOON JOINS THE MARVELS

Starnews Korea reports the South Korean actor Park Seo-Joon has been cast in an unknown role for Marvel Studios' The Marvels.

Park Seo-Joon was a part of the award-winning Parasite in 2019 and has also starred in a number of South Korean-produced series and films.

Seo-Joon is reportedly set to leave for the United States in the second half of 2021 to begin filming the Brie Larson sequel.

A NEW FACE IN THE MCU

The Marvels is a dark horse favorite to be one of the biggest MCU projects on the schedule. Not only is it following up the $1.13 billion success of Captain Marvel, but it's also hosting huge roles for some of the MCU's biggest upcoming actors and characters.

Seo-Joon being attached for this project is huge for the South Korean star making his big debut into the American mainstream.

Many would say that Brie Larson is more than enough to build hype for Captain Marvel 2, but the reasoning for the official name, The Marvels, is what is really giving this project the steam it has.

Teyonah Paris's Monica Rambeau was a breakout star in early 2021's Wandavision and Kamala Khan, set to be played by Inman Vellani, is hoping to transition monumental comic book success to the MCU with a Disney+ show later this year.

With a cast of characters and actors that is sure to draw a wide variety of fans, adding a foreign star like Seo-Joon is another subsection of fans potentially putting themselves in theater seats.

It will be interesting to see what role the TV star grabs in The Marvels, set to release November 11, 2022.
