Chris Pratt Praises Chris Hemsworth & Taika Waititi's Thor 4 as 'Next-Level'
Everybody knows who's in charge.
Ever since Star-Lord and Thor shared the screen for the first time in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, a tangible tension has existed between the two giants of the Marvel Universe. In just a handful of scenes, the legendary outlaw made clear that he didn't care much for the God of Thunder, mostly out of jealousy. After all, he's just a dude: Thor is a man (Drax's words, not mine).
That aforementioned tension doubled down in 2019's Avengers: Endgame as Thor boarded the Benatar for a space adventure with the Guardians of the Galaxy. All it took was one "who's in charge?" dialogue to remind fans that there is still no love lost between these two.
PRATT PRAISES THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER
They might be friendly rivals on-screen, but Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth could not be better friends offset.
Speaking with Yahoo Entertainment, Pratt took the time to compliment his Thor: Love and Thunder co-star, noting fans with be "astounded" when they see Hemsworth in his fourth Thor flick:
“Hemsworth is great, he’s so good. People are gonna be really astounded when they see what he’s brought, what he and Taika have brought for Thor 4. It’s next-level. [Hemsworth] ratcheted it up to even another level. So I was just in awe of his presence. He is a man-god in real life. It was just cool to be there with him.”
A WORTHY LEADING MCU MAN
If Thor: Love and Thunder is half as loved by fans as much as it is by those internally working on it, audiences are in for a treat.
Pratt's praise is the latest in a laundry list of compliments Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi have received about the upcoming film. The applause extends beyond the leading man and visionary, though, as Hemsworth himself called Pratt's acting chops "both funny, inspiring and intimidating" earlier this year.
Aside from the general praise, Pratt's note about Hemsworth taking this one "to even another level" aligns with set photos of the God of Thunder. Thor is styling a rock-n-roll tank top and denim jeans in numerous set pics, indicating that this iteration of the Asgardian is going to be wilder than ever.
Seeing that Hemsworth is one of the most tenured active MCU actors, he knows his character on a level second to none. If there's anyone that's going to level up in Phase 4, it's Thor.
While fans should expect another epic performance from Hemsworth, they should also buckle up for an exhilarating story. Hemsworth has previously noted that Love and Thunder's script is "one of the best [he's] read in years."
Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on May 6, 2022.
