Xbox Reveals Open World Vampire Game From Dishonored Studio

Redfall Video Game from Arkane Studios, Xbox

One of Microsoft's weakest links has been their lack of exclusive first-party games. This area is where Sony outshines pretty much every platform and is something that Microsoft has always said they were working on. Yet, their library of exclusives remained barren.

Then, they went and bought Bethesda—a move that took many by surprise. In doing so, Microsoft suddenly had a heaping handful of exclusives already in development. On top of that, Bethesda is the home to not only extremely talented studios, but some of gaming's most beloved franchises.

One of those key studios is Arkane studios. Fans would know them from having created the critically acclaimed Dishonored series, alongside the recent Prey.

At the end of Microsoft's E3 conference, they saved one of their biggest announcements for last: Arkane Studios' brand-new game, which is also an entirely fresh IP.

THE VAMPIRES HAVE ARRIVED

Arkane Studios, the developers that brought the world the Dishonored franchise and Prey, have unveiled their brand-new game: a vampire-focused co-op shooter named Redfall.

ARKANE'S NEXT HIT IS REVEALED

It's always exciting when a big tentpole studio decides to go in the direction of starting an entirely fresh IP. With Arkane's track record, it's all but a given that Redfall will live up to, if not surpass, the expectations set by their past releases.

While many are still waiting for Dishonored 3, that day will hopefully still come in the future. Until then, the focus will be on this entirely new narrative and world, which seems to have been overtaken by a larger vampire threat.

Lots of signs point to these vampires being unlike anything fans are usually familiar with when it comes to classic creatures. This is a great thing, as it gives the game all the freedom in the world to create a new experience for fans to dive into.

Redfall is set to release in the summer of 2022, exclusively on Xbox.
