Ant-Man 3 Writer Reacts To Loki Finale By Posting Bizarre Photo of Spider-Man
Warning - This article contains spoilers for the season finale of Loki.
Marvel Studios has now completed its third Disney+ project with Loki, having just finished its run. Coming out of the finale, it's needless to say that fans are excited. Unlike both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki sets up the future of the MCU in massive fashion.
For those that haven't seen the Loki finale, it's probably best to turn back now. For those that are still around, how insane is it that Loki is responsible for freeing the Sacred Timeline and creating the multiverse that will be the foundation of the MCU going forward?
It's rather crazy to think that the God of Mischief, Sylvie in this case, is technically responsible for a film like 2015's Fantastic Four existing.
With Sylvie's decision to kill Kang came true chaos––as Jonathan Majors' villain warned would happen. In fact, it may have even spawned a basketball game between Venom and Spider-Man.
SPIDEY AND VENOM SHOOT HOOPS
On Twitter, Jeff Loveness reacted to the fallout of Loki's finale by posting a cheeky picture of Venom dunking on Spider-Man, captioning it as "Loki...what have you done?
The illustration, which also happens to be a variant cover of the comic series Venom #35, can be seen below:
Loveness also tweeted a second time in response to a fan making a similar joke, saying "it has begun."
THE IMPACT OF LOKI
Of course, Loveness' first tweet was just a fun reaction to the chaos that Sylvie unleashed in the Loki finale. Fans should certainly not be expecting to see Venom and Spidey play basketball any time soon. But, by definition, there is a timeline where that is happening right now. Just not this one.
Of course, this image keeps hope alive that Venom could maybe, possibly, one day, spend time on screen with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige even recently talked about the idea of Sony's Venom showing up, and he didn't even deny that the possibility still exists!
Loveness' reaction is fun for another clear reason: he's writing Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which also happens to be the next time fans will supposedly see Kang the Conqueror.
Could this be a tease that the next Ant-Man film will have some more crazy multiverse fun in similar ways to what has been teased with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? It's certainly possible. After all, that film series is all about the Quantum Realm, and with that comes time travel. Who knows what crazy situations Scott and Hope Van will find themselves in next?
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit theaters on February 17, 2023.
