Warning - This article contains spoilers from Episode 5 of Loki.

Loki is gearing up for an explosive finale, and it's safe to say that the fifth episode of the series sets it up in a huge way.

The fourth episode, "The Nexus Event," was a rollercoaster ride for MCU fans since it was jampacked with reveals, twists, and turns. Ultimately, the installment ended on a massive cliffhanger, with Tom Hiddleston's Variant being pruned by Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Ravonna Renslayer after finding out the truth that the Time-Keepers are mindless androids

However, Loki revealed that this was not the end for the Endgame Variant since the post-credits scene showed that he was still alive alongside other versions of himself in an unknown location.

The fifth episode entitled "Journey Into Mystery" didn't waste time in educating viewers on what happened to Hiddleston's MCU character, and this responsibility was given to the three Loki Variants that were featured in the credits stinger. The Variants explained that they are inside a location known as The Void or simply, at the end of time.

This void was revealed to be inhabited by a powerful entity named Alioth, and Loki deduced that this animal is a guard dog who's protecting the individual who's really behind the TVA. Sophia Di Martino's Sylvie pruned herself to join Loki in the void, and it didn't take long for Owen Wilson's Mobius to join the cause

The episode ended with Loki and Sylvie successfully enchanting Alioth to open the doorway to the TVA's real culprit.

Now, to celebrate the release of the episode, a new batch of images has emerged online.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR LOKI AND SYLVIE?

This latest batch of images from Episode 5 of Loki highlights the significance of the different Loki Variants in the show's overarching narrative. The episode is filled with references to both the MCU and Marvel Comics, but it's the presence of the different versions of Loki that took the spotlight.

Richard E. Grant's Classic Loki gave a memorable performance in the episode, especially after the sequence where he conjured a fake Asgard to distract Alioth and give Loki and Sylvie the time to enchant the powerful beast. Meanwhile, many would agree that the debut of Jack Veal's Kid Loki is an exciting development, mainly due to the rumors that the MCU is leaning towards the introduction of the Young Avengers.

It remains to be seen if Kid Loki will be featured again in the post-Loki era, but it's safe to say that anything could happen at this point.

The friendship between Loki and Mobius is once again showcased in the episode, and it is fittingly capped off with a hug. Not much is known if they will be reunited again in the finale, but it looks like the hug served as the perfect send-off to their friendship.

The team-up of Loki and Sylvie will be put to the test in the finale, especially now that they are heading toward a dangerous and powerful villain. Speculation online points to the villain being Kang the Conqueror, or, at least, a version of himself.

If this is the case, then the two Variants will need to utilize all their powers to gain an advantage. If Alioth is somewhat subdued in the end, it's possible that Kid Loki and the rest of the redeemed Variants will help out to take down the head of the TVA once and for all.

The first five episodes of Loki are now streaming on Disney+.
