Black Panther 2 Casting Spoils Underwater Crime Scene Sequence
After the passing of the legendary Chadwick Boseman, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's T'Challa, the status of the already announced Black Panther sequel, was suddenly uncertain.
Marvel Studios decided to move forward with the franchise and is in the process of creating a story that will involve a new member of the MCU, Ironheart, played by actress Dominique Thorne. Little is known about the film as of right now, but with production underway, more and more details have begun to surface.
Just recently, fans were able to get their first look at Thorne on-set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. A separate leak also revealed that the characters of Shuri and Okoye, portrayed by Letitia Wright and Danai Gurira, respectively, were both on set together filming a scene at MIT in Cambridge, MA.
Another detailed leak has given even more insight into a scene from the upcoming film.
A CRIME SCENE IN WAKANDA FOREVER
A casting call for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was recently posted via Facebook by Tammy Smith Casting - Atlanta.
Details of the casting call require the applicants to be "2 SCUBA DIVERS with COMPLETE SCUBA GEAR/EQUIPMENT."
Another detail pointed out that the actors would not be "IN the water, but nearby the crime scene as if getting ready to go in."
With no specific listing as to whether the desired actors needed to be male or female, it is safe to assume that anyone can take on the role:
Casting for 2 SCUBA DIVERS with COMPLETE SCUBA GEAR/EQUIPMENT to be divers at a crime scene (not IN the water, but nearby the crime scene as if getting ready to go in)...
but MUST HAVE COMPLETE SCUBA GEAR
A VERY DETAILED CASTING CALL
It's common to find casting calls publicly posted on social media. Many, if not all, major studios put up offers like this for scenes that they need extras in.
It is uncommon, however, for them to publicly reveal details of the scenes that will be filmed. This call is quite detailed when it comes down to it. The fact that they openly said it would take place at a crime scene and near water leads to speculation that something fairly major will take place.
A diving team is only brought to a crime scene if they are in search of some sort of major evidence that could be in the water, or if they are searching for a dead body.
Whatever the case may be, it seems that a crime will take place in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that will require the attention of the authorities. With rumblings of Namor and the underwater kingdom of Atlantis making their way into the sequel, this aquatic crime scene could indicate the Sub-Mariner is up to no good.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to release in theaters on July 8, 2022.
