Daredevil's Vincent D'Onofrio Can't Stop Liking Tweets About His Marvel Return After Hawkeye Trailer

After a successful run of four Marvel Studios series on Disney+, Hawkeye is likely capping off the MCU's 2021 streak on the streaming service.

With the show's debut fast approaching, Marvel released the first full trailerteasing Hailee Steinfeld's role as Kate Bishop and the personal battle that Clint Barton will be facing throughout the show's plot.

One figure that was noticeably absent from the trailer was Kingpin. Vincent D'Onofrio was rumored to be reprising his Daredevil role as Wilson Fisk for Hawkeye, making the jump over to the MCU in a similar fashion to Charlie Cox's rumored return as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home

The Hawkeye promo may already feature a sly reference to Daredevil, with Alaqua Cox's Echo appearing in a shot drenched in red that heavily resembles imagery present in the original Daredevil series on Netflix.

D'Onofrio seems to have now addressed these rumors in the most cryptic way possible...

The Kingpin Won't Stop Liking

Shortly after the release of the official trailer for the Hawkeye Disney+ series, Daredevil actor Vincent D'Onofrio suspiciously started liking Tweets relating to the upcoming Marvel show.

Many of the Tweets specifically reference D'Onofrio's potential appearance in the show, so the actor's acknowledgment of them before any official Marvel Studios announcement is certainly peculiar.

These included Tweets saying "THE KING RETURNS IN HAWKEYE" and "Mf just posted a tweet 10mins after the Hawkeye trailer releases," making it difficult to overlook the growing evidence pointing to Kingpin's potential appearance in Hawkeye.

This was preceded by a cryptic message that the Kingpin actor shared around the time of the Hawkeye trailer's release, though the poem's meaning is up for debate:

"The three legged dog.

run'n, jump'n and with an incredible case of the wiggles.

This dog does not ask for pity.

This dog looks up to us.

Wants to know what's next.

Head tilted it says.

Where should we go,

what should we do?

Why are we waiting?

I say to myself.

This dog is right"

Why is Vincent D'Onofrio on a Liking Spree?

Given the timing and content of Vincent D'Onofrio's original Tweet which sparked fan response in addition to the actor engaging with fan interactions, it would be quite strange if it turned that Kingpin wasn't in Hawkeye after all, right?

D'Onofrio could, of course, be purposefully messing with fans, but given his previous desire to reprise his role, it would seem odd for him to take this route.

The poem D'Onofrio originally Tweeted seems to heavily imply that he agrees with the sentiment that he, and fans, should not wait around any longer to see him return as Kingpin. There is a chance that the Tweet indicates D'Onofrio may be tired of waiting for the call from Marvel Studios and is now choosing to take action.

However, when D'Onofrio is subsequently liking Tweets specifically addressing his possible return, it becomes hard to accept that the actor's actions don't point to something larger at play.

Fans can find out whether the Kingpin will join the MCU or not when Hawkeye debuts on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
