Star Wars: Palpatine, Lando Calrissian & More Receive New Hasbro Figures

Star Wars Lando Calrissian Palpatine

Things have been pretty quiet on the Hasbro Star Wars front as of late.

The toy company, which typically holds frequent live streams to unveil new products, has seemingly been withholding new reveals of Star Wars action figures. To put this in perspective, the Marvel team at Hasbro has had at least three or four "Fan First" live streams in the time that Star Wars has received one.

Recently, however, the Hasbro Star Wars team finally threw fans and collectors a bone. While the stream was light on new figures in the six-inch scale Black Series, there was a healthy number of debuts for the smaller scale Vintage Collection.

Now, new breakdowns and pre-order links for the latest wave of the Star Wars Vintage Collection are available.

Some Star Wars Vintage Collection Goodness

Star Wars, Hasbro, Lando Calrissian
Hasbro

Hello, what have we here? Bring home everyone's favorite cape-wearing card player, gambler, and scoundrel in a compact 3 3/4" scale with this Lando Calrissian figure from Hasbro.

Lando's head sculpt features Hasbro's proprietary PhotoReal face printing technology which applies a realistic likeness of actor Billy Dee Williams to the face. And speaking of capes, Lando comes packed with a fabric cape modeled after the one he wore in Empire Strikes Back. Pre-order here.

Star Wars, Hasbro, Lobot
Hasbro

And what would Lando be without his wordless old cyborg buddy, Lobot? The ever-dependable Lobot is ready to help keep Cloud City running smoothly but is also packed with a blaster in case the Imperials show up and things go south. Pre-order here.

Star Wars, Hasbro, Majordomo
Hasbro

"De wanna wanga!" (which presumably translates to, "This action figure of Bib Fortuna is pretty cool!") Bring home Jabba the Hutt's Majordomo in the form of this small-scale action figure from Return of the Jedi.

Pose him welcoming and promptly intimidating new visitors to your Jabba figure. Or better yet, shove Jabba off of his 3 3/4" scale throne and place Fortuna atop it, à la the Season 2 post-credits scene of The Mandalorian. Pre-order here.

Star Wars, Hasbro, Teebo
Hasbro

What can be said about Teebo? Apparently, not much. His Wookieepedia entry is surprisingly bare. His new vintage collection figure, however, is packed on classic, 1980s style card back packaging and includes a surprising amount of accessories for such a small figure.

Fun fact: The Ewok warrior was confirmed to be Force sensitive in Legends material. Pre-order here.

Star Wars, Hasbro, Palpatine
Hasbro

Mr. Sheev Palpatine arrives with a teeth-bearing grimace and alternate, electrified, Force lightning hands.

Pose him giving orders to your Darth Vader figure or just have him stand on a display shelf doing what he does best: being a total jerk. Pre-order here.

Star Wars, Hasbro, IG-11
Hasbro

Looks like IG-11 has been reprogrammed to serve his base function as a detailed action figure on collectors' shelves. Just be warned about him initiating his self-destruct sequencing, as his manufacturers' protocols dictate he cannot be captured.

The figure comes complete with two blaster rifles and a bandolier. Pre-order here.

All of these figures will be available in October 2021.

Star Wars Vintage Collection Is Not Slowing Down

Fans of the smaller scale Vintage Collection were largely left by the wayside for a few years after Hasbro debuted the far more popular 6-inch Black Series line and had a right to feel disappointed about this. After all, the original Star Wars figures from the late '70s and early '80s were produced in the same size.

Hasbro seems to be doing its part to not alienate Vintage Collection-buyers by tricking out new releases every once in a while. As it stands, the Vintage Collection lends itself better to in-scale starships and vehicles, things that would be much too large to produce in the Black Series.

Both camps have their merits, but given that the action figure world has mostly shifted away from 3 3/4" figures, perhaps there may come a time when, shudder to think, Hasbro may cease production on the Vintage Collection entirely.
