Will Hawkeye's Disney+ Show Be as Popular as Loki & WandaVision? New Data Reveals Clues

Hawkeye Disney+

This November, Marvel Studios returns to live-action storytelling on Disney+ with Hawkeye, an action-packed, Christmas in New York-based series starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld as MCU newcomer Kate Bishop

Now that Ms. Marvel has been moved to 2022, Hawkeye looks to close out Marvel Studios' inaugural year of highly successful Disney+ shows. This run began with the awards darling WandaVision and even included a venture into animation with What If...?

While WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If...? are all tough acts to follow, new data suggests that Marvel Studios has yet another massive hit on their hands come November with Hawkeye.

Hawkeye More Popular Than WandaVision or Loki?

Information obtained by The Direct from Whip Media indicated that anticipation for Disney+'s Hawkeye is currently on par with Loki. The hype is also topping that of the studio's debut series WandaVision.

At 60 days out from its November 24 debut, the upcoming series is in step with Tom Hiddleston's time-traveling romp in terms of audience interest, meaning that anticipation for the show is also surpassing that of both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

While revealing, this new information wasn't the first indication of a high level of interest in Renner and Steinfeld's Disney+ story; he debut trailer for Hawkeye received more likes on YouTube than any previous trailer for a Marvel Disney+ series.

However, this interest isn't limited to the MCU and its fan base.

Whip Media also reports that Hawkeye is currently the most anticipated new show of the Fall season despite its late November release.

Hawkeye On Target For Success

In comparing the Disney+ series thus far, Hawkeye is similar to WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in that they all star Avengers who had supporting roles in the theatrical films. Therefore, the fact that Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye is on par with Tom Hiddleston's Loki - who was remarkably popular with fans even before his series - is intriguing; but there are few reasons for this.

First of all, Marvel Studios now has an impressive record of success with Disney+ shows. Anticipation should be higher now that fans and general audiences alike know they can expect quality storytelling.

Secondly, Renner's Clint Barton has a checkered past in this post-Endgame MCU outing due to his time as Ronin. It's a story point that should be interesting to explore. Also, the show marks the acclaimed Hailee Steinfeld's MCU debut as Kate Bishop which could further expand the series' audience

The trailer's heavy Christmas theme also gave the impression that Hawkeye could be the MCU's version of a holiday special, which is something fans haven't seen outside of Iron Man 3

Then there's Hawkeye's late November release. Coupled with its New York location, it's possible that the show could tie into December's Spider-Man: No Way Home and even past Marvel projects due to rumors concerning Vincent D'Onofrio's return as Daredevil's Kingpin

With Marvel's track record and these possibilities, anticipation for Hawkeye only looks to increase as the series approaches its November debut.

Hawkeye will debut on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
