Black Panther 2: New Listing Spoils Military Boat Scene

Secrecy is a hallmark of all Marvel Studios films; but in the case of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, mystery may be the better description.

The sequel to 2018's groundbreaking blockbuster Black Panther was thrown into question following Chadwick Boseman's passing; but eventually, Marvel decided to move forward with Ryan Coogler back in the director's chair coupled with the return of much of the original cast.

Additional details about the pivotal sequel have come to light as well, ranging from the casting of Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams or Ironheart for the film, as well as scenes involving Okoye and Shuri at MIT and a high-speed chase near the campus.

While just who the next Black Panther will be and the state of Wakanda is still a mystery, there has been very little secrecy surrounding where the film is shooting and details of specific scenes; and that trend continues thanks to a new, rather revealing, casting call for the 2022 film.

New Casting Call Spoils Black Panther 2 Scene

A new casting call asking for "Military, CIA and SHIP CREW TYPES" for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was recently posted on Facebook by Tammy Smith Casting - Atlanta.

The agency emphasized that they're looking for "NEW FACES ONLY" between the ages of 25 to 55 years old and who are "Physically fit, with military, police or ship crew experience only."

This scene is for a night shoot taking place on Saturday, November 6, 2021, and Sunday, November 7, 2021, beginning at 5:00 PM on both nights, suggesting that the scene itself could be an outdoor night scene.

Will Black Panther Explore Atlantis or The Raft?

This isn't the first time this agency's casting call has given away info about a scene for the film. In previous posts, the agency requested individuals for Wakanda Forever scenes involving a small, backyard party, a traditional, Mexican village, and a water-related crime scene involving scuba divers

This new post, however, is particularly interesting, in that - much like the call for scuba divers - it has to do with water, possibly supporting reports that Black Panther 2 will involve Atlantis and Namor the Submariner

It's also interesting that the post is asking for those with military or crew experience only. Since Wakanda is known for its skilled warriors, perhaps Atlantis will also be a type of military society.

However, another possibility is that this scene involves the Raft - an underwater, military-esque prison - where the Dora Milaje took Baron Zemo at the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+. That series, along with Ayo and the Dora Milaje's involvement, could've been laying the groundwork for this scene in Black Panther 2

Now if the upcoming film does involve the Raft, that plot point could also lay the foundation for a potential Thunderbolts project, as many fans theorized during The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's run in early 2021 due to the presence of Baron Zemo and Val.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently filming and will release in theaters on July 8, 2022.
