Marvel Writer Teases Daredevil MCU Reboot Amid Spider-Man: No Way Home Rumors

Spider-Man: No Way Home is nearly here; after months and months of endless speculation, leaks, and intense discussions, Tom Holland's next outing as the webhead is right around the corner.

While there's plenty of hype around all of the returning Spider-Man characters, there's one hero that is also set to make a triumphant return: Charlie Cox's Daredevil. Whispers point to the character being Peter's lawyer in the film and also returning for a bigger role in the upcoming Disney+ series She-Hulk.

If Charlie Cox's blind vigilante is in fact showing up, does this mean that Marvel Studios is planning a reboot of his former Netflix show for their service?

According to someone in the know, that just might be the case.

Daredevil's Reboot Teased by Former Marvel Writer

At MCM London Comic Con, David Hayter, the writer for X-Men (2000) and X-2: X-Men United (2003), also known as Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid series, dropped a pretty interesting tidbit.

According to him, Marvel Studios is in fact working on getting a project starring Daredevil off the ground.

In fact, Hayter was fairly casual and matter-of-fact about it all, saying point-blank that "they're doing a reboot of Daredevil:"

"You know, they’re doing a reboot of Daredevil and Daredevil was always a very important character to me, and I loved the, I loved the first way they did it. But there’s certain things that I, you know that I want to adapt from the Frank Miller run on Daredevil that really meant a lot to me. Um, I yeah, I I mean, that’s that’s really the one."

Hayter worked with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige all the way back in the early 2000s on the original X-Men films and was even the one who was hired to write and direct the original canceled Black Widow movie.

Let the Daredevil Craze Begin

Out of all the former Marvel Netflix offerings, Daredevil was always the most popular with fans and critics alike. Feige has also publically talked about how much he enjoyed the show and Cox's performance as Matt Murdock. Because of that, it's absolutely no surprise that the character's future in the MCU will amount to more than supporting roles in other various projects.

While mention of a Daredevil reboot happening doesn't translate to a definitive return for Charlie Cox, given all of the other rumors having been going around over the last few months, there's almost no way he wouldn't be returning alongside the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.

As for why Hayter would know this information, there's no absolute way to know how reliable his words are. However, given his previous work with Marvel and knowing Feige himself, it's certainly possible that what he says is true.

Now all fans have to do is wait and see how it all plays out.
