Spider-Man: Andrew Garfield Praises Marvel's Kevin Feige Amid Return Buzz
Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to bust open the Marvel Multiverse on the big screen in just over a month, and rumors are flying about what fans can expect from the much-anticipated film. While already offering up a slew of villains from past Spider-Man films, No Way Home's worst kept secret is perhaps its biggest selling point: the inclusion of previous Spider-Man actors Tobey McGuire and Andrew Garfield as their respective versions of Peter Parker.
As leaks cause the rumor mill to spin at a breakneck pace, eyes are turning to the actors themselves for anything that could be interpreted as confirmation. While they both previously denied involvement, The Amazing Spider-Man's Andrew Garfield has at least begun to change his tune on his potential appearance.
In recent interviews where he's been asked directly about it, Garfield has played coy with reporters about whether fans will see him swinging into action in No Way Home.
Andrew Garfield Praises New Take on Spider-Man
In an interview with Extra, Andrew Garfield shared his thoughts on how Marvel has handled Spider-Man since his time playing the character. Garfield was quick to praise what the "whole team have done with the character."
“I really love what that whole team have done with the character. Like, I really love what Jon Watts has done, what Tom has done, what Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige have done with this incarnation of the character, and they have given it so much soul and so much fun and joy and it is so true to the character.”
Garfield dodged answering anything regarding his involvement in No Way Home, but added:
“I will say this: I’m very excited to see what they’ve done with their third installment.”
Garfield Doesn't Deny Appearing in Spider-Man 3
As is to be expected after the kind of leaks that have been happening, all eyes are on the cast of No Way Home for any sign of confirmation of the long-awaited team-up. With only about a month to go from release, Sony will likely continue to hold what cards they still have close to the vest. The hype generated from the wonder about Garfield and McGuire's appearance in the film is an incredible form of free advertising, after all.
Expect to see a lot of these types of non-answers as the film draws closer. Should more continue to leak, there's the potential something shows up in a trailer, but at this stage, Sony and Marvel would be much better served saving the reveal for the film itself. Doing so will ensure a very interesting opening night for the film, potentially rivaling the excitement seen at the debuts of Infinity War and Endgame.
Fans don't have much longer to wait now. One or more Spider-Men will definitely be swinging onto the big screen when Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17.
