Star Wars Exec Hypes Up Ewan McGregor's Kenobi Reunion With Darth Vader Actor

In addition to The Book of Boba Fett in December, as well as Andor and Season 3 of The Mandalorian in 2022, one of Lucasfilm's most exciting new series for Disney+ is Obi-Wan Kenobi. 

While fans have been interested in learning more about Obi-Wan's years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, much of the anticipation for the show has to do with Ewan McGregor reprising his role as the Jedi Master along with Anakin Skywalker's Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.

Lucasfilm President Talks "Emotional" Obi-Wan Kenobi Reunion

In talking with Empire about the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy described Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen's on-set reunion saying, "I was surprised at how incredibly emotional it was for each of them:"

“The thing that was most exciting was being on the set and watching the two of them get excited. They hadn't seen one another in a long time. I was surprised at just how incredibly emotional it was for each of them to find themselves back in these roles, and just realising how important Star Wars was to each of them. It was the beginning of their careers.”
