The Batman Video Reveals New Looks at Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright & More
Following the DC Extended Universe's first-ever streaming series Peacemaker in January 2022, Warner Bros. will make its return to theaters with the franchise by bringing March's The Batman to the big screen. Featuring the talents of Robert Pattinson in a new take on the Caped Crusader, this Matt Reeves production will look to give the DCEU its first ever solo story featuring arguably DC's biggest hero in history.
Marketing for The Batman has been through a roller-coaster of a ride for more than a year, which started with a trailer at DC FanDome 2020 that only used about 25% of the movie's footage that needed to be filmed. Thankfully, DC came back in a big way at the following year's event with the first full trailer, which showed just how intense and dangerous Pattinson's Bruce Wayne will be in his early days as a hero.
Coming along for this ride with Pattinson will be key Batman players like Zoë Kravitz's Selina Kyle and a new Commissioner Gordon played by Jeffrey Wright from Marvel's What If...? fame. Now, thanks to some extra features on a commemorative Blu-Ray movie, fans are getting another tease of what to expect to see in The Batman.
Jim Gordon and Batman On The Job
A special feature on the Batman: Year One 10-Year Commemorative Edition Blu-Ray, via Twitter user @chickasawbatman, showcased new looks at Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne and Jeffrey Wright's Jim Gordon from The Batman.
Wright and Pattinson are seen searching a house together with Pattinson fully geared up in his batsuit. This likely comes from the scene featuring them together that fans saw in the movie's first trailer from 2020.
Gordon is seen in front of a crowd of police officers and civilians firing his weapon near an undisclosed vehicle. It's unclear what kind of chaos he is fighting, although it could include one or all of the film's villainous trio of the Riddler, the Penguin, or Carmine Falcone.
The feature gives a closer look at Gordon in action, wielding his gun and rocking his classic mustache in all its glory.
Gordon reads over some case files in a behind-the-scenes look at the movie, alongside Robert Pattinson's Batman and an extra police actor.
Wright walks by the on-set Batmobile with a blue-screen behind him as the car sports incredible tech and lights surrounding it.
Wright and Pattinson stand next to each other in costume near what appears to be a luxury sports car. This could be one of Bruce Wayne's cars, although it's unclear what the pair is up to in this scene.

Batman and Jim Gordon - A Classic Comic Book Duo
While Robert Pattinson's Batman is confirmed to be in his earliest days of crime fighting in next year's The Batman, it seems that the case may be the same for Jeffrey Wright's Jim Gordon in his tenure as Commissioner. Their partnership will clearly be a key plot point in this new version of Batman's story within the DCEU, although most of their journey together is still a mystery.
This film will also set up Wright's Gotham Police Commissioner for more adventures beyond this movie, thanks to the mysterious GCPD series coming to HBO Max sometime in 2022. For now, Gordon will be up against plenty of his own adversaries in this solo movie with dangerous villains like the Riddler and the Penguin.
No matter what the specifics behind this footage turns out to be, Jeffrey Wright and Robert Pattinson will be spending plenty of time alongside each other as they work though another round of Gotham-centric mayhem.
The Batman will debut in theaters on March 4, 2022.
