How Long Is Disney+’s Moon Knight? Episode Runtimes Revealed
Marvel Studios is only a short time away from restarting its Phase 4 slate with Moon Knight, the franchise's first project of 2022. Oscar Isaac will take on the titular hero in one of the MCU's darkest series to date - a darkness that came through in the first clip from the show that recently debuted to the public. This six-episode show will add plenty of new dynamics to the MCU behind its first new character of the year.
Coming in as the MCU's fifth live-action Disney+ show, Moon Knight will be the first one that features a leading hero never seen in the story before.
Currently, the press from around the world are taking in the show's first four episodes and teasing that this could be one of the MCU's best projects to date. While some are worried by how much material those press members received (four full episodes), it's not enough to deter fans from marking their calendars for Moon Knight's March 30 debut.
Since screeners are making their way through various outlets, fans are naturally wondering how long each episode will be in terms of runtime. Now, those specific numbers are out in the world with less than a month left until Moon Knight begins streaming all over the world.
Moon Knight Episode Runtimes Revealed
The Direct's own Julia Delbel shared the runtimes for the first four episodes of Moon Knight on her Twitter account.
The first episode will be 45 minutes long, Episodes 2 and 3 are both 50 minutes in length, and the fourth entry has a runtime of 51 minutes. Delbel shared that these runtimes include the credits, which are about five minutes long, and she revealed that episode titles were not included:
- Episode 1: 45 minutes
- Episode 2: 50 minutes
- Episode 3: 50 minutes
- Episode 4: 51 minutes
Disney+ Runtimes Continue Trend with Moon Knight
Disney+ has allowed Marvel to take on an entirely new form of storytelling with series that consist of either six or nine episodes; each show comes out to about six hours of content in total. While more grounded stories like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye have stayed consistent at close to an hour for each episode, this hasn't been the case for every entry thus far.
Moon Knight seems to be fairly consistent with what Marvel Studios has delivered since early 2021, with WandaVision being the only true exception thanks to its sitcom-style early episodes. The episodes from the three other shows have been as short as 43 minutes and as long as 62 minutes, with most runtimes falling somewhere firmly in the middle of those numbers.
While it's still unknown how long Moon Knight's last two episodes will be, these first four runtimes should give fans plenty of material for Marc Spector's full MCU debut. Their plots will remain a mystery until they begin streaming, but even this little bit of information should have the viewing public excited about seeing what's coming.
Moon Knight will begin streaming on Disney+ on March 30.
