Spider-Man: No Way Home is the third solo outing of Tom Holland's Marvel hero, and it has been heavily teased as an adventure like no other.

The upcoming MCU threequel is directed by Jon Watts, the director of the first two solo entries, namely Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Alongside Holland, franchise mainstays Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, and Marisa Tomei are confirmed to return.

No Way Home will also feature Benedict Cumberbatch's MCU return as Doctor Strange, with the first trailer confirming that the Master of the Mystic Arts will help Peter Parker with his identity crisis after the events of Far From Home.

As a result of Peter's accidental mishap during Strange's spell, the Multiverse appears to have opened up, thus unleashing villains from non-MCU Spider-Man films like Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin.

So far, No Way Home's marketing has solely focused on the film's villains from the Multiverse, with no indication that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men would appear in the movie. On top of that, the discussion surrounding the movie has been centered around its trailer, with many fans sharing their own theories about what's in store in the next batch of footage.

Now, the trailer has officially arrived, unveiling fresh looks at No Way Home's stellar ensemble and its mysterious storyline.

No Way Home Trailer Reveals Multiverse Villains

Sony Pictures officially revealed the second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, showcasing the return of multiple villains from Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy and Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man franchise.

Spider-Man: No Way Home's latest trailer provided some answers while also raising questions along the way.

The footage shows more of the film's story beats, interesting character interactions, and thrilling action sequences. While it didn't showcase the long-rumored returns of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, seeing the comeback of their respective villains should be more than enough to boost anticipation for the movie.

Aside from Doctor Octopus, the trailer confirmed Green Goblin, Sandman, Electro, and Lizard, marking a total of five villains who will duke it out against Tom Holland's Spider-Man. It is unknown if there will be a sixth member to complete the Sinister Six line-up, but there's a chance that the villain count is final so that Sony and Marvel Studios can move forward with their MCU version of the team down the line.

Based on what's been revealed, it looks like Peter, MJ, and Ned will be together throughout the film to sort out this Multiverse mess, with Strange looking at their backs. It's also fascinating to see Doctor Octopus interacting with the main trio, and it will be interesting to find out if the villain will reveal his backstory in Maguire's Spider-Man universe.

From an extended look at the bridge fight between Doc Ock and Spider-Man to the Statue of Liberty fight scene involving the rest of the Multiverse villains, No Way Home seems poised to be a captivating web-slinging adventure for Holland's MCU hero.

Still, it's safe to say that there are more surprises on the way as No Way Home's premiere inches closer to its release date on December 17, 2021.
